1.) I selected the inspiration pieces that I did because I found them the most interesting to me. I enjoy Frida Kahlo's self portrait the most because she has weird features that make her painting fun to look at.
2.) For my self portrait I did photo editing because it's what I'm most good at. I like the edit that I used because I like how the blue and pink looks together.
3.) I didn't really face any challenges.
4.) It represents me because I really enjoy taking pictures and editing them to look good. So it was really easy for me to do this project.
5.) Color and value
6.) I did enjoy working on this because it was super easy to complete
7.) I really liked my final artwork because the colors make it look really nice.

Project #4 Reflection

The title of my art exhibition is Vincent Van Gogh: Landscapes
The theme of my art exhibition is Vincent Van Gogh's landscape paintings. I chose this to be my theme because Van Gogh is one of my favorite artists and I think that his landscape paintings are some of the best around.

My exhibit contains many of different artworks by Van Gogh that are of landscape areas, most of them having a focus of the color blue, or having at least some blue incorporated into it. I chose his landscape paintings to be the focus of my theme because it seems like he wanted to get them all to relate to each other in some way. I enjoyed that they all could have many different back stories.

I think that the viewers of my exhibit could relate to the way that I feel about this exhibit because of how straight forward I am in my interpretations.

Module 13 and 14

The first video “The Lowdown on Lowbrow: West Coast Pop Art” discusses how Pop art was known as “Lowbrow” to the artists who were familiar with it.

The second video “New Tate Modern: Switched” explores the importance of Tate Modern’s Switch House and how it influenced contemporary art in London. The Tate Modern’s Switch House holds various modern art exhibits.

The third video I watched, “An Acquiring Mind: Philippe de Montebello and The Metropolitan Museum of Art” discusses the important role that Philippe de Montebello had as the Director of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where he acquired over 80,000 thousand pieces of art that were considered outstanding works.

The videos do not really relate to my project because my project is just a general overview of the artwork.

In my opinion, the videos are very informative and add more depth and understanding in choosing art for the project. It helps a lot with my ideas for the project.
